Adam was awarded funding by the Department of Energy Early Career Research Program. This $875,000 award over 5 years will support the group's efforts to understand the fundamentals of printing processes for printable electronics.

We are proud to announce that we are part of a new $11 Million Energy Frontier Research Center on Soft PhotoElectroChemical Systems (SPECS)​ sponsored by the Department of Energy Office of Science. SPECS is a collaboration between the University of Arizona, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Georgia Tech, University of Colorado, University of Kentucky, Emory University, Purdue University, and Stanford University.

We would like to welcome a lot of new students to the team this year. Two new graduate students: Saddam Ali (Mat. Sci.), who is a PhD student and Fulbright Fellow; and Madeline Dailey (Mat. Sci.), who is an MS student. We also have three new undergraduate students: Alex Allred (Chem. Eng.), Eric Fingalson (Mat. Sci.), and Michelle Ruhl (Mech. Eng.). Welcome to the team!

Congrats to Allison Segapeli for graduating today! Allison was also honored with the Dr. William Scott Bousman Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in the Unit Operations laboratory. Adam and Prof. Erin Ratcliff gave a talk to the College of Engineering alumni about the future of solar energy and their efforts to improve the technology and develop a diverse and workforce to be future leaders in the field.  See the talk here.

Visiting scholar Michela Prete's work on the effects of carotenoid and silicone-based additives on the stability of organic photovoltaics was published in Journal of Materials Chemistry C. Congrats Michela! 

Our EMPOWER STEM program with Drs. Erin Ratcliff, Neal Armstrong, and Cody Nicholls has been funded by the Office of Naval Research! This program will serve to train student veterans from diverse backgrounds in printing of electronic materials.
